Hot on the heels of Bjorn Petrikat's leftfield house release on
Sanghyang Dedari comes this fine dub techno EP. The work of Japanese
producer Rothchord, From Behind The Pass is focused on an
introspective take on this sound. It's typified by the subtle,
stepping groove and late night pulses of "Quiet Episode". Rothchord
also brings this approach to bear on the other tracks. "Reverberations
And Illusions" sounds like classic Chain Reaction, with the cavernous
textures and baleful chords creating a real sense of pathos. The title
track is just as melancholic, as Rothchord drops dramatic strings over
                               dubbed out kicks.
