     Impractical Cockpit are a New Orleans (now spread out but
     ready to strike) based band that really has a wide open soul
     suck sound of mid-day desert howl retro-boozled with ack ack
     attack of crypt kickers like the Flipper. The difference is
     its own punch drunk logic that ping pongs its way through the
     echo tank and your flimsy human skull. At once acoustic and
     plugged in.

     -

     Diaspora tribesmen from the swamp stricken parishes of New
     Orleans laid this doubly effective soul stroke to tape before
     the waters rose. The sounds they get burrow to the heart of
     the matter with reverb tanked slo-mo and urban howl forming a
     durable disc of genuine interactive musicality. A keeper and a
     grower.

     This is the bandÆs umpteenth record and they really stretch
     out on this record and unfurl. You can hear their patented
     brand of lethargo Flipper-isms as if from a tunnel down. Also
     coming through is some noontime yodeling the KirkwoodÆs
     perfected on Meat Puppets II, slowed to a chug. Definitely on
     their own musical plane to be reckoned with.

     The band is now scattered to states elsewhere because of the
     devastation in New Orleans, but will be traveling and playing
     to support the record. One thing the band has been noticing is
     how apt the pre-Katrina artwork of ôTo Be Treatedö is with its
     grimy mold look. Now very much the lay of the land. A work to
     fit the times.

     This is the perfect record for the energy drink generation to
     choke on.
