dXb reynold, (sam rouanet) made his first persona dXb
dXb appearance with the album "my favorite film". after dXb
dXb this delicate and exquisite debut which showed dXb
dXb reynold's previously-unknown downtempo side, we had dXb
dXb to invite sam to apply some of this musicality in a dXb
dXb more dance direction . the result is this three track dXb
dXb vinyl which further illustrates the persona style of dXb
dXb emotional dance music which embraces the heart and dXb

dXb la cite en haut (english translation: "the city on dXb
dXb high") was inspired by the "l'incal" series of dXb
dXb graphic novels of french graphic artist moebius (jean dXb
dXb gireau) and writer alejandro jodorowsky. in those dXb
dXb books we are introduced to a dystopian underground dXb
dXb (literally, this time) underworld filled with dXb
dXb thieves, mercenaries and the beatific and beautiful dXb
dXb savior of humanity, l'incal. arguably, this story was dXb
dXb the inspiration for luc besson's "the fifth element." dXb

dXb we recognize these tropes as familiar territory for dXb
dXb techno music... who doesn't know the story of juan dXb
dXb atkins' inspiration from alvin toffler's 1970 book dXb
dXb "future shock?" or the killer robots and assassin dXb
dXb miss djax of alan oldham's djax up-beats covers. but dXb
dXb to all these bumps in the night of the collective dXb
dXb unconscious, sam pulls out different sonics than ol' dXb

dXb we open with "l'arnaque" (english translation: "the dXb
dXb sting") and one feels the claustrophobia of shady dXb
dXb deals done between crooked narcs and hare-lipped dXb
dXb thugs in dimly-lit underground corridors, droplets of dXb
dXb rust-colored water dripping from ancient iron dXb
dXb conduits. rats pull themselves out of brackish sewer dXb
dXb water, unaware of the human elements, somewhere in dXb
dXb the darkness a knife-blade flicks a snatch of light dXb
dXb and a chase is on. up ladders and into the dXb
dXb sub-basements, slippery shoes twist around corners dXb
