"Seething from the vinyl like a noir cowl, this new 12"
sees Tectonic alumni Random Trio coming under the dubstep
shank of Omen and Cyrus. Picking 'Haunted' as their
sacrifice of choice, both Omen on the A and Cyrus on the B
succeed in lowering the heady cocktail even lower into the
inky dubstep abyss - conjuring up some low-end business
that will have your fillings shaking for weeks. Opening
through the chewed sensibilities of Omen, 'Haunted' is
stripped bear as the subs begin to roll and concrete beats
provide foundations down below and taut focus up above -
resulting in the kind of sound which has become dubstep's
calling card in the past 12 months. Flip the plate and
you'll be privy to an audience with DJ Cyrus, wherein the
Random Trio see their beats bleached to the point of
transparency as the bass sticks to a hypnotically stable
footing and half-glimpsed samples emerge from the ether.
