Jimmy Cozier is a singer/songwriter born in Brooklyn,
NewYork. His parents are of Jamaican and Guyanese descent
and have been a major part of his musical success. With
dad being a jazz saxophonist, young cozier has always been
exposed to music since a youth. His first big step in the
game was recording with "Lil Kim" on "Junior mafia's"
first album, on a cut titled"Backstabbers". He then went
on to showcasing his talent as a back up singer and piano
player for "Joe" on his "All that I Am" tour. From there
the ball kept rolling when Cozier was hired to write with
"Lil Mo" on a few elektra artists albums and eventually
landed a hit duet for janet jackson and Blackstreet titled
"Girlfriend". From there the calls kept coming in and
Cozier landed hits on Mya, Craig David, Sinead
O'connor,Darius Rucker of "Hootie and the Blowfish",
Olivia and five time Grammy winner Alicia Keys. In 1999
Jimmy Cozier was introduced to Clive Davis via Wyclef Jean
and signed to Arista Records,under the direction of Clive
Davis. In 2001 Clive left Arista Records and started J
records. Loyal Cozier rolled with Clive, and his freshman,
self titled album was released in summer 2001. His Single
"She's all i got" peaked number 3 on billboard hot r&b
charts and his album peaked number 27 on billboard top
200. Cozier spent 2002 and 2003 touring, and the last 2
years he's recorded both a reggae album and a R&b album.
He's also working closely with Multi Platinum management
on Cozier/Badboy artist "Cheri Dennis". Look out for the
2006 Cozi summer!!!
