Mitch McDowell took the professional name General Caine in tribute
to an officer who had supported his artistic ambitions when he was
at military school. After leaving that institution, he formed the
group Booty People with several future members of War. Signing to
Groove Time Records in 1978, General Caine released his first solo
album, entitled 'General Caine'. Two years later (and still at
Groove Time), he released 'General Caine II, Get Down Attack'.
Now J & M Records brings the funk with three edited versions of
great Caine cuts using the extended grooves as a starting point.
