In the huge plants where they mass-produce your hamburger, they kill the cows by
funneling them single-file into the abattoir, where a dude takes a ⌠captive bolt
mechanism÷ ∙ essentially a pneumatic hammer ∙ and fires it point-blank through
the cow╞s skull and into its brain. The cow dies instantly, workers haul out the
carcass, and the next cow comes down the line. It is to this ruthlessly
efficient serial brutality that I liken Infection Agenda╞s new album. Their
unrelenting industrial kick drum is like that bolt gun, barreling straight down
the center channel; one wonders if it would fill or empty a dance floor. The
buzzsaw guitars are reminiscent of Atari Teenage Riot, the grooves are straight
KMFDM, and the ethos of tracks like ⌠Frat Boy Holocaust÷ hint towards industrial
death pioneers the Berzerker. Completely unprecedented in the Connecticut area;
let╞s hope that the lack of a sympathetic, pre-existing scene doesn╞t slowly
drag Infection Agenda into oblivion.
