One of Theo's rotating assembly and, as you might expect from a
Detroit guitarist, a devout funkateer, Duminie DePorres has worked
with George Clinton's P-Funk thing, Black Planet, Enemy Squad, and
Soul Clique, Beast Crew, Public Enemy, 7th Octave...Check out some
mo of his tracks and thoughts at myspace.
SS 025 is a deep fried funk miasma, starting with track one given
entirely over to Duminie on the instruments with vocal element
provided by Umar Bin Hassan of the Last Poets.
Theo co-writes and produces the second track "Subterranean" an
exercise in fuzzed discordance and off kilter rhythm that should
perhaps not be listened to alone, late at night, on headphones.
Finally Mr P hisself takes the control on "No Demons, No Magik"
leading off with some sweet jazz keys and the guitar riffing down
in the mix and evolving over the course of 12 minutes into
something pretty free & wonderful as these sound signatures are in
the habit of doing.
