About six months after the Elektrolux debut album æAfter The RainÆ,
the ambient jazz producer team Simon Cooper and Phil Webb aka Groovecatcher
and the Belgian singer Manuela Van Geenhoven are releasing their next
masterpiece by the digital Mini-LP æFurther From HomeÆ. The six tracks can
exclusively be downloaded via iTunes and Beatport and thus represent an
entirely new Elektrolux product platform. On æFurther From HomeÆ, Cooper
and Webb celebrate an intensive mix of organic ambient pop, jazzy lounge
sounds between Balearic Beats and mellow Drum┤n┤Bass with a pinch of Easy
Listening û a soundscape just as on æAfter The RainÆ.
After the maritime intro of the title track, especially æDial M for MartiniÆ
bewitches by ist narrative playfulness of creating a romantic homage of
floating lounge sounds and sixties-related cocktail bar jazz. However,
the musical roots of these sounds are definitely present-time ones. In
æRun SilentÆ, the synthesis of trumpet sounds and the soprano voice of
Van Geenhoven delights the audience in a wonderfully smooth melting way.
By the massively rolling percussions of æIn The GameÆ and the smooth
'Soilsound' remix of æThe Electronic KickÆ (already known from the 10th
anniversary compilation), the album which is outstanding in every way is
finally completed.
