Seaman's GU 12 presents the perfect
opportunity to view the trancey beginnings
that have served as a point of departure for
almost all of today's most popular
progressive djs and producers.
This mis is a representation of Dave's Pacha
set from his world-wide tour in 1999. CD 1's
deeper mix starts with a cascade of bells and
the melody line from Underworld's "Jumbo".
Undoubtedly, the two best tracks on the first
CD sit next to eachother, "Rush" and "Smooth
Groove", both products of Dutchman Lucian
Foort.
CD 2 starts out with quite possibly the
weakest track in the entire set, Adamski's
"One Of The People", however, the CD gets
progressively better.
Dave Seaman has certainly earned his place as
one of the world's most consistend DJs, and
this compilation only serves to reinforce
that title. While I'm certainly not a huge
progressive trance fan, I think the CD (aside
from being extremely well done) is important
for anyone that truly enjoys progressive and
feels that as a genre it demands a historical
perspective.
Thanks are due in part to: my dear friend
Gina (who delayed the release of this album
for far too long), the other DS girls
[sweetie, if you must wear a cast be sure
Lacroix did it], 1REAL and tronik in aiding
in the spread of quality electronic music.
No thanks to those groups that release shitty
eurotrance, then attempt to proclaim that
they are 'badass' and 'innovatory' ... Honey,
I can promise you the vinyl rip of "Blow That
Whistle Bitch" will soon be forgotten, and so
will you. Quit utilizing bandwidth to spread
music developed for 12 year old european
girls.
As always, if you enjoy the album and would
