Sound in light follows Avatara û 2005, who reached
first place top sales in portugal and was gold
record.
ô The power of sound will be revealed to Man the
day He fully understands the strenght hidden in
words, and starts using them acording to evolution
laws. Sound and silence united will break the
barrier of human ego, and will lead to higher
levels of conscience.
Light is the essential element of every particle.
LightÆs manifestation leads all creatures to their
true desteny, and man will live in it, and through
it will he express himself.
Unite in sound! Unite in light! Unite the tribes!
are key declarations for a new rising Era, a stage
of peace and union, and respect for planet earth,
spaceship on wich we travel, our galactic mother.
Man will become more subtile, mater will finally be
understood, science and religion will fuse under
the power of metaphisics.ö

About the band ...............
In 1995 Valdjiu , player of the Bambuleco and
Kalachacra, and Karkov, singer and ceremonial head,
began Blasted Mechanism, an unusual fusion of music
styles from all around this planet Earth and
beyond.
Balayashi, the ensembles first outing becomes the
best selling EP in Portugal since then, bringing
Arys strong bass pulses into the fold.
The collective incarnates their first outfit skins
and aided by aboriginal instrument didgeridoo,
spread their surprising chemistry throughout the
stages of the university circuit and major
festivals turning songs like Atom Bride Theme into
expressions of pure energy.
In 1999 The debut album, Plasma, is acclaimed by
both public and critics as one of the most original
records ever made on Portuguese soil and the
northern European, Klezmer inspired piece, Karkov,
becomes a huge success amongst fans that flock to
witness Blasted Mechanisms second mutation.
By 2000, in the Mix00 cd, these strange mutants,
aided by Brazilian drummer Fred Stones weighty and
frantic rhythms, melt electronics and tribalism
into a unique sound. This aural concept sets the
basis for the following album, Namaste, which
becomes a sales and critical success and makes it
to the Portuguese tops; Are you ready is considered
one of the best Portuguese videos and Blasted
Mechanism are nominated for MTVs best Portuguese
act thus catapulting the band, joined by Zymon, The
cosmic guitarist and player of the Indian sitar,
and their third visual metamorphosis to ever larger
audiences including the first shows in England,
Germany, Holland and Switzerland.
In 2005 the messianic album Avatara becomes a
number one gold disc on the Portuguese sales
charts. The two Valdjiu directed videos Blasted
Empire, filmed in exotic Morocco and Sun goes down,
which gets to number one on Portugals MTV hot list,
get Blasted Mechanism nominated for best Portuguese
act on MTVE awards once more. With this new
successful record, perfected by percussionist Winga
who brought his extensive knowledge of traditional
Africa in, and with new Mexican supernatural
alebrijes influenced physiological forms, the band
signs a European distribution deal and agency.

a totally new expirience, on an inovative format: a
double record, half fisical (sound in light) half
virtual (light in sound).

Light in sound, so you can welldress your cdr.

Sound in light / light in Sound was produced and
recorded by Ary (BM Bass player) and DB (BM sound
enginier) at Toolateman studios, and mixed at praτa
das flores studio.
The record is enhanced by the cooperation of both
portuguese and internacional artist such as:
Antonio Chainho(pt), Rπo Kyao(pt), Kumpania
Algazarra(pt), Gaia Beat(pt), Macaco(sp),
