| | This particular EP here is a bit of an | |
| | anomaly. It's five tracks of slammin' 1992 | |
| | styled ragga-tinged hardcore produced by | |
| | Austin Reynolds, the in-house production | |
| | engineer for the influential Suburban Base | |
| | label. Four out of these five tracks | |
| | (excluding the Rude Boy mix) were set to be | |
| | released as Suburban Base catalogue number | |
| | SUBBASE18. However, aside from a few DJ-only | |
| | promo releases, this never got an official UK | |
| | release! Rare as fuck in the UK, somehow, it | |
| | managed to get licensed by US label Pyrotech | |
| | in a package deal along with the Smart E's | |
| | album and Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era "Peace & | |
| | Loveism", where it was released on both 12" | |
| | vinyl and this CD single release, featuring | |
| | the bonus Rude Boy mix (which is nothing more | |
| | than a radio edit, really). The closest | |
| | thing to an official UK release this ever had | |
| | was the Stop-Go mix of "Unity In Dub" being | |
| | included on the Moving Shadow / Suburban Base | |
| | compilation "The Joint" -- which then was | |
| | licensed back to the US for the third volume | |
| | in the seminal Speed Limit 140 BPM+ series. | |
| | My personal favorite on this EP is the final | |
| | track, "I Get High", which is actually a | |
| | remake of one of his first songs which | |
| | appeared on SUBBASE004. | |
