░ █ ▀ ▀▀ ▀▀▀▀▀▀ █
█ Amanda Lynn Mason was born on December 27, 1989 █
█ in Richardson, Texas and shortly after moved to █
█ Fort Worth, Texas. As a young girl she was always █
█ singing, her dad said, ôWhen she started to talk █
█ she started to singö. At the age of five, she was █
█ accepted into the Musical Preparatory Program at █
█ Texas Christian University. Her first vocal █
█ teacher, who was blind, noticed immediately that █
█ she had very high vocal ranges which led to the █
█ beginning of her classical opera training. █
█ █
█ As her vocal lessons continued, so did her dream █
█ of becoming a performing artist. She loved all █
█ aspects of performing arts. She took classes in █
█ dancing from different dance companies, acting █
█ lessons from local theater schools and piano █
█ lessons. She really enjoyed playing sports, but █
█ realized that her heart was always leading her █
█ toward her dream and her journey continued. █
█ █
█ At the beginning of her eight grade year, she █
█ changed schools to attend the new Fort Worth █
█ Academy of Performing Arts which was originally █
█ the Texas Boys Choir. The mission of their school █
█ was to train and develop students to become world █
█ class artists. She was selected as a member of █
█ their Professional Choir the ôSinging Girls of █
█ Texasö. She was active in their theater, dance █
█ and vocal programs and gained invaluable █
█ experience which she would take with her a year █
█ later when she moved with her family to Tampa, █
█ Florida. █
█ █
█ Although she accepted the move, her challenge to █
█ keep her dream alive was even greater. Her mother █
█ knew that finding her an opera coach was a must. █
█ She had heard about Joseph & Violette Meyers, who █
█ were master Opera Coaches and shared with them █
█ AmandaÆs dedication and love for singing. They █
█ were very skeptical because she was only █
█ fourteen, but agreed to audition her. They were █
█ completely surprised with her talent and █
█ enthusiasm and accepted her. She is still a █
█ student today. █
█ █
█ The next step was to find a way to keep █
█ showcasing her talents. She had participated in a █
█ beauty pageant just prior to moving and really █
█ enjoyed it. Of course, anything that would offer █
█ her a stage was a magnet to her. She realized █
█ that participating in pageants was a great avenue █
█ to help keep up her skills while doing something █
█ she liked. She signed up for a pageant the first █
█ week she arrived in Tampa. Within a couple of █
█ months she won the title of Miss Jr. Teen Florida █
█ National American Miss out of over ninety girls. █
█ You may even have recognized her on the Jay Leno █
█ side walking segment where she sings a short █
█ Opera verse to him with her crown and banner. █
█ █
█ Over the past two years, she has won several █
█ local and state pageants which led her to the █
█ National Title as Miss Teenager United States █
█ 2005/6. She attributes many of her successes to █
█ the pageant systems, the Directors and the █
█ training she received. She has won many talent, █
█ speech, modeling, photogenic, and actress awards. █
█ During her reigns, she has made over 120 █
█ appearances as a guest speaker and performer. She █
█ feels extremely blessed to have made so many █
█ friends in the pageant industry. She takes pride █
█ in representing each pageant title she holds. █
█ █
█ During her reign as Miss Teenager United States █
█ and at the age of 15, she capture the attention █
█ of a Florida State Legislator who had just been █
█ named the Chair of the National Order of Women █
█ Legislators and asked Amanda to chair one of her █
█ national initiatives, ôMaking Reading A Realityö. █
█ This program designed to educate and inspire █
█ children to read gave her the opportunity to █
█ excel at one of her greatest gifts, which was █
█ nurturing others while building their self esteem █
█ and confidence. █
█ █
█ In the fall of 2005, when the devastating █
█ hurricanes swept through our country she began to █
█ think about how she could help. She started a █
█ Katrina Backpack Project, where she gathered five █
█ hundred backpacks filled with books and grooming █
█ supplies to send to the elementary schools in █
█ Kenner, Louisiana, one of the hardest hit areas █
█ Although, she was excited to help and appreciated █
█ all the donations she had received to make her █
█ project successful, there was still something █
█ missing. █
█ █
█ During this time, she had flown to Los Angeles █
█ and met with Roy ôRoyaltyö Hamilton, a well-known █
█ music producer. He told her she had a unique █
█ sound that he had not heard before and agreed to █
█ produce a variety of songs for her. While she was █
█ recording she realized what was missing from the █
█ backpacks, it was a song. She asked ôRoyaltyö if █
█ he would help with her project by producing a █
█ special song that would let the families know █
█ that they were still being thought about. He was █
█ excited about the project and together they █
█ created and produced the song ôHOMEö. It also █
█ occurred to them that this song could help give █
█ inspiration to the many military personnel █
█ overseas. █
█ █
█ The CD ôHOMEö was produced and she started a █
█ campaign that led to over 5,000 copies being █
█ distributed between families affected by the █
█ hurricanes and the military personnel who were █
█ away from their homes serving our country. As a █
█ result one of the highlights of this young teenÆs █
█ life was to be invited to attend Lundi Mardi Gras █
█ festival and performed her song. As a sign of █
█ appreciation the Mayor of Kenner, Louisiana █
█ awarded her with the Key to the City of Kenner. █
█ █
█ As word spread of her selfless efforts she █
█ continued to gain notoriety. She was invited to █
█ sing on the floor of the Florida House of █
█ Representatives and was a guest speaker and █
█ entertainer at the National Order of Woman █
█ LegislatorÆs (NOWL) Conference held in Florida. █
█ She also was invited as a guest speaker and sang █
█ at the annual Women of CommissionsÆ Conference █
█ who kindly donated books to her program during █
█ their convention. █
█ █
█ In 2005, while attending another NOWL Conference, █
█ she was invited as a guest speaker to attend the █
█ Premier for the movie ôChumbscrubersö. The movie █
█ captured her attention with the drug issues █
█ facing youth today. This was her inspiration to █
█ establish her National program called ôSpread █
█ Your Wingsö, a drug awareness program to help █
█ educate teens on the dangers of drug and alcohol. █
█ █
█ When developing her ôSpread Your Wingsö program, █
█ she wanted it to be different from the █
█ traditional programs. She knew that if you stayed █
█ on the right track and worked hard █
█ you could achieve your Dreams. This became the █
█ message that she began sharing with others, only █
█ it had a unique twist. She knew how popular music █
█ is to teens today and felt if she incorporated █
█ music into her program, that the message would █
█ capture their attention even more. By staying █
█ focused on her dreams, she leads by example █
█ showing others that their dreams are possible █
█ too. █
█ █
█ To enhance her program, she put together a █
█ twenty-two minute message music video. This video █
█ includes a message that was approved by █
█ Partnership For Drug Free America along with █
█ three music videos of her original songs. The █
█ second part of her program, involves a live █
█ forty-five minute performance in which she █
█ delivers her story and message between a variety █
█ of her original songs that are uplifting and fun. █
█ Her slogan is, ôTune Into Music And Tune Out On █
█ Drugs.ö █
█ █
█ Her program has attracted the attention of the █
█ State of Florida Drug Control Department and she █
█ was asked to sing at the GovernorÆs Annual Drug █
█ Summit in June of 2006. She was a guest speaker █
█ and performer at the Parents Resource Institute █
█ For Drug Education (PRIDE) Convention in █
█ Washington, D.C. Her program has attracted the █
█ attention of national and state drug prevention █
█ programs as she continues to gain local and █
█ national sponsors. █
█ █
█ Broadening her skills in the performing arts over █
█ the past few years, she has attended many well- █
█ known performing art programs including Stage █
█ Door Manor in New York, Camp BroadwayÆs Master █
█ Class and Show By Show Programs, New York Film █
█ Academy, School of Cinema and Performing Arts and █
█ the Television Institute in Los Angeles. She has █
█ competed in other talent competitions and won the █
█ Silver Medal in Opera at the World Championships █
█ of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. █
█ █
█ There is no stopping her and her efforts to █
█ inspire others. She always carries CDÆs during █
█ her travels and when seeing any military █
█ personnel at the airports she gives them a copy █
█ of her CD and tells them ôThank You.ö Some people █
█ may have noticed her in the airport handing out █
█ tiaras and crowns to the young children. Once █
█ during a turbulent flight there were two young █
█ girls sitting across the isle from Amanda. The █
█ youngest girl began to cry and she knew exactly █
█ what to do. She got up out of her seat and pulled █
█ her crown case from the overhead bin and shared █
█ it with the girls. She talked with them while █
█ they were both trying on the crown and helped █
█ calm them. ItÆs moments like this that make her █
█ proud that she can make a difference. █
█ █
█ This fun loving beauty queen is well on her way █
█ to becoming a pop star. What makes her unique is █
█ that she continues to use her popularity to help █
█ make a positive difference in the lives of █
█ others. Her new CD ôNotice Meö is a mixture of █
█ pop and urban pop crossover. A portion of the █
█ proceeds of the sale of this CD will go towards █
█ her "Spread Your Wings" program. █
