After a long feverish wait the first release on Fergie's Excentric music
imprint has arrived. Fetgie has been releasing some very cool records over
the last 12 months on labels like Punchfunk and ELP. Now he launches his own
label with a bang by licensing a true classic from 1995 - Salt City Orchestra
- The Book and bringing it bang up to date. The A side remix from Fergie
himself is a real barnstormer. He cleverly uses fat synth basses and a solid
3/4 rhythm build up and snippets of the original vocal sample before the
track goes seriously off in the break. It gets even more intense on the B
side with a remix from the superb Gregor Treshor. He has been producing some
amazing material over the last few years for labels like Datapunk and
Greatstuff. He delivers a masterpiece with eerie pads and a synth bass to
take your head off. To finish the record there is the much sought after
original edit that has not been available on vinyl now for many years. This
record is not to be ignored.
