Release Notes:
I initially founded Structures Sonores in 2002 as a way for me, Viktor Sj÷berg,
to release my own music. Several exclusively handcrafted and severely limited
editions later, it is 2006 and it is time to take Structures Sonores into new
territory. As the words found above this paragraph might indicate, this release
û the Sonores album ôElefantenö û marks a new beginning.
ôElefantenö is the Sonores debut album following two EP releases. It is a
meticulously detailed and at times epic display of slow pop music.
The main visionary behind Sonores is Jonas Odhner, a young man hailing from the
Swedish town of ┼mσl. With his musical background originating in hip hop music,
Jonas first made his mark on the Swedish music scene as an inventive scratch
deejay years before picking up and mastering the guitar. Joined by Elisabet
Sj÷kvist and myself, Jonas has been developing the music that makes up
ôElefantenö for quite some time, a fact that should be evident when listening to
the album.
Traces of classic progressive rock are blended with a jazzy feel for pop
sensibilities; ôElefantenö is the work of someone determined to find the exact
aesthetic, one which is strong enough to carry the emotions that are being
conveyed. Even though the music is rich in detail it manages to stay subtle,
largely due to the delicate vocal style of singer Elisabet Sj÷kvist.
I take great pride in having played some part in the process of recording
ôElefantenö and I am very happy to have it be the first CD release on Structures
Sonores.
