if you've been a follower of the blossoming cape town urban music
scene over the past four years, you can't have missed the budding
of a promising funk driven combo with dj and mc, into one of the
most sought-after and potent live acts in the country:
     moodphase5ive.

the band has evolved organically into it's present line-up of:

d.form (aka denver turner) - rhymes
ernie (aka ernestine deane) - female vocals & lyrics
farmer brian (aka brian de goede) - drums
riccardo moretti - keyboards and congas
     bood carver - bass
     douglas armstrong - trumpet, guitar

their live sound, upon which their reputation is built, is a
unique sonic fusion of soul, funk, jazz, dub, latin and electronic
soundscapes and trickery - fronted by the rare soulful power of
ernie, and the dynamic presence and skillful rhymes of d.form.
it's a sound with a powerful positive message, delivered with the
passion and attitude of artists doing their thing because they
     love doing it.
it's the sound of where cape town music is at - a melting pot of
global music cultures, shaped into a fresh sound that is both
globally accessible and distinctly from the cape. it's a sound
that has built them a huge and devoutly loyal following that
crosses the colour, age and money lines; a sound that is rapidly
     catching on around the world...
