       he Moulinettes celebrate their ten-year anniversary by
       releasing this compilation of highlights from their first
       three albums (with a few rare B-sides thrown in),whilst
       still working on their fourth long-player. The band's
       sound is characterised by a kind of lo-fi indie easy
       listening sensibility, which recalls Camera Obscura, the
       early successes of Belle & Sebastian, or even at times
       the ramshackle harmonies of The Pippettes. Tracks like
       "Deinen Namen Merk Ich Mir" and "Zaubervogel Barbie" are
       shamelessly upbeat pop songs, while there's a peppering
       of melancholy throughout the album, as found on the
       Christmas-friendly "Winter In Kanada". Eminently likeable
       through and through, this isn't limited to The
       Moulinettes' music: their website even has an article on
       it called "What Is The Difference Between Slayer and The
       Moulinettes?", which is an actual interview between the
       two parties with a photo to prove it. All very quirky,
       but rather ace nonetheless.
