Track 5 Additional Production and Remix by Sheep Pettibone
Well, I shan't beat around the bush - in all honesty, the true reason
behind this release is the stunning remix by the one and only Francois
Kevorkian. House purists are in for a surprise, this is not going to be
quite what we usually expect from "our" FK and shows a more experimental
side of Mr. "Body & Soul". A dash of electro bleeps, hints of skippy
breaks with junglistic influences, wobbly synths, some camp but not
insistent vocal samples and lots of funky as hell drum patterns. This
wouldn't sound of place in a club that plays "alternative dance music",
but I prefer to listen to it alone, with the lights turned off. Strange,
quirky and utterly fascinating - that's how I would describe it; probably
my favourite FK remix ever. I'll be fair and mention the George Acosta
remixes that are decent and most likely would have been praised if they
weren't paired with THE remix. When you have the ultimate tune, why
settle for second best? As far as the David Kahne and Shep Pettibone
remixes go - sweet inoffensive pop music, that's all that needs to be
said... Accept no substitutes.
