Completely essential repress of a seminal Detroit techno cut
dating back more than 10 years to 1995, with additional updates
from noble techno brethren Deepchord, Psychofuk (aka Sean Deeson)
and Echospace. The original mix was Convextion's first appearance
on wax, originally listed as "Untitled", introducing Gerard
Hansen's signature style of emotionally punishing motorik techno
with direct influences from Basic Channel/Berlin and the Bellevue
3 to a thoroughly captivated yet select audience. The fact that
this release has never been repressed has only served to reinforce
it's status as one of the holy grails of second wave Detroit
techno. With a project this special the remix treatments could
only be of the highest standard too and Sean Deeson doesn't
disappoint, working it for the dancefloor with some beefed up
jackin kicks and raising the tempo a few notches to balance out
the depth with some floor functionality. Rod Modell warms up his
racks of analog gear for the Deep Chord remix, slowing affairs
down to his tempo and wrapping the track in swathes of intangible
cosmic warmth swirling around a full sunken edit of the original
bassline. Rob Modell hooks up with Soultek in their Echospace
guise to delve fathoms deep into the groove, returning with a
sublime lungful of curling dubtech shapes.
