Pandamonium and label founder Norma Jean have both been quiet as of
late but in the late 90s they put together a deliciously chilled
house with the spotlight on NJB's sweet sax and vocal stylings.
Some of the Panadmonium cuts received wider exposure on KDJ, Fnac,
Funky Chocolate and Peacefrog releases.
On PR 15, NJB co-writes with Sharon Jones (yes, we believe it is
the Dap-Queen herself). As one would expect from Sharon a strong
vocal performance takes centre stage on the first two tracks. Tk 1
is the quintessential Panda sound with full vocal. On Tk 2 K. Hand
goes a bit Reel 2 Real on us, turning in a tougher track that loops
parts of Sharon's vocal inna dancehall style.
On Tk 3 KDJ takes control, dispensing with all but a hush and wish
of vocals, bringing the tempo way down and setting NJB free on the
sax for one of our favourite of his Panda appearances.
