We are proud to present the first release of the hamburg based duo extrawelt on
traum. There EP "Doch Doch" is a fruitful beginning of a collaboration and so
Extrawelt are also currently working on a Minilogue Remix for Traum. Extrawelt
means "Parallel World"... a harbour for their own music. Extrawelt produce music
that can be described with the word minimal, but they themselves are much more
than "minimal techno artists". They have been around as "Midimiliz" for years
and similar to the Traum's artist Minilogue lead another life producing
progressive music on several labels over the years. Arne schaffhausen and Wayan
raabe who are the men behind Extrawelt tour the world non-stop, playing live.
Playing live is their passion and their recordings are a result of the
influences they take in. Extrawelts debut on the english label Border Community
attracted a lot of attention for their music in 2005. It is music composed and
produced in a big studio with lots of hardware, with a focus on sound, sound
that can be a comforting as well as a driving force. The idea behind the music
is to transfer an image of memory to the listener. Extrawelt produce emotional
music in combination with a big production, forceful mighty sounds and melodies
that withstand time... The opposite to the typical tricky computer music made
only with the pc. This extrawelt release on Traum features the powerful title
track "Doch Doch". It consist of heavy driving baselines, sound stabs and an
eruptive "wailing" melody resulting consequently from the build up. Together
generating a powerful rocker for the dance floor! the flipside "Last Past" is an
electroish rhythm box sort of track, darkish and a night crawler for the hours
where the party is being generated by impulses far from melodies, just beats and
stabs and howling dry sounds, low and just keeping the beat going.
