Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome a fresh new label from Hamburg, Germany.
"Kompass" will present some exciting new electronic music to you, somewhere in
between house and techno, from deep tracks to rough cuts, always on the hunt for
your listening and dancefloor pleasure. The label was founded by two guys, who
are into this business for quite some time now. First fellow is Yuri Sn°r aka
Juergen Schneider, techno activist from Cologne since the early 90s, DJ, Party
Promoter and very well versed labelmanager for many years now. Secondly, it's
Philipp Brⁿning aka Phly, one of Hamburg's beloved senior DJs, once Promoter at
Motor Music and Universal Records and currently working for another splendid
labelbunch in Hamburg is about to include his long experience and exquisite
liking for good music into this fresh imprint. The debut release of Kompass is a
very special release for all parties involved, label owners and artists. Brⁿning
& Schneider bring their new label into being and the artists, noone less than
Extrawelt, celebrate their second 12" after the huge success of their
"Soopetrack" on James Holden's imprint Border Community. Extrawelt, producer duo
from Hamburg, serves two slamming tracks, both surely bearing the mark of this
very special Extrawelt sound. An exploding mixture of modern techno, cool
minimal shuffles and the well-dosed portion of slightly trancy influences. On
the a-side it's "Fernweh", a strong dancefloor weapon for your peak time set.
Let the bass roll and rule! The flip side delivers "Drehfehler", which is less
hymn, but even more minimal and subtle. This one will rock your afterhour for
sure.
