│ │█ London Elektricity are Tony Colman (aka Pondlife)
│ │█ and Chris Goss (aka the Goose).
│ │█ Hospital is their record label there are severa
│ │█ l artist names on the roster, but confusingly they
│ │█ make all the music themselves, along with
│ │█ Tim Land and various occasional
│ │█ collaborators from London.
│ │█
│ │█ They started Hospital in 1996; and love
│ │█ music that is live, warm, deep, soulful
│ │█ and original - they hate music that has
│ │█ waves, seagulls and dodgy sax solos.
│ │█ Respect is due to our drummers, vocalists,
│ │█ string and horn players who
│ │█ make the Hospital sound possible.
│ │█
│ │█ Hospital is in West Kensington, which is
│ │█ not as upmarket as it sounds as they live
│ │█ in daily fear of being hit by flying eggs
│ │█ thrown from the nearby tower block by children.
│ │█ Which gives them quite a lot of credibility.
│ │█ They release about 3 EPs a year and an album
│ │█ whenever they can manage it.
│ │█
│ │█ A brief history: Tony used to be in an acid jazz
│ │█ band called IZIT, and Chris used to work in a Soho
│ │█ record shop called Soul Jazz. They both used to
│ │█ run a label called Tongue & Groove.
│ │█
│ │█ They also have another label called Galactic Disco
│ │█ Music which comes from the latino /breakbeat
│ │█ house end of things.
