Following on from his widely acclaimed, Kranky released debut
album æMezzotintÆ, this complementary full length release by
Chris Herbert offers up a rich collage of found sounds and
manipulated guitar. Originally composed for broadcast as part
of the æFrameworkÆ series of programmes on London based
avant-garde radio station Resonance FM, the 57-minute piece,
æDilutedÆ makes extensive and original use of field recordings
captured around the canals and waterways of HerbertÆs native
Birmingham as a bedrock to build upon his subtle yet engaging
drones. This audio tour guide establishes a vivid mood of
time, geography and space, allowing the listener to fully
immerse him or herself within.
