Second part to this ultra legendary classic Kerri Chandler. Masterful
deep NY garage album with an incredible list of guests: Roy Ayers,
Arnold Jarvis, Christopher "gate-ah" Mccray, Jennifer Morrison etc.
New Jersey born and bred, Kerri Chaos 6:23 Chandler began DJing at
nine years of age and has been producing since he was 15. Since his
debut back in 1990, Kerri has graced the decks of many of the
worlds most significant nightclubs, produced and remixed many of
musicÆs most influential artists and recorded for just about every
house label that counts.
House heads often cite Kerri Chandlers previous A Basement, A Red
Light And A Feeling as a landmark house album now ten years on, the
man has updated it. Hes took himself off into the same New Jersey
studio and produced a work that is still full of real soulful,
jazzy and inspirational cuts. New collaborator Anthony Flanagan
kicks off proceedings with a searing vocal on Your Embrace setting
the right tone for what is to come. Vocally other big cuts come
from Christopher McCray with Even Though and the ever-reliable
Arnold Jarvis on Music Is My Friend, but the real highspot is
Jennifer Morrisons Dont Hide Your Love From Me which should nail û
once and for all the myth that house cant be soulful. Its
wrap-round ambience and lyric (taken temporally or spiritually) is
truly inspirational. The other really big cut is Vibrations on
which Mr. C gets to work with one of his heroes Roy Ayers. Its as
good as the pairing implies, but its excellence is only on par with
the rest of the set.
As a bonus the pack comes with a second mixed CD. For anoraks, the
mixing took place at NYs "Centro Fly" in February, but any one
from anoraks to soul heads will find real delight throughout.

The small skips on CD2 are the side effect of live mix.
