Release Notes:

New York City is certainly a perfect spot for an up-and-coming band to emerge
from. Kite Operations is one such band. Their sophomore album and follow-up to
the tremendously well-received debut anthem "Dandelion Day" is an intriguing and
brainy exercise in post-modern indie rock. Revitalizing shoegazer Hum-esque
lullabies into something as abrasive and distorted as a My Bloody Valentine
outtake, Kite Operations is seemingly unafraid of writing truly interesting
songs and not just pop fodder. But don't you worry because there are plenty of
noise pop choruses that will have you humming bars in no time. The drums sound
loud and big as if legendary producer (and annoyingly over-opinionated) Steve
Albini was at the helm. Trading guitar glazes, Joseph Kim and David Yang propel
parallel yet distinct noise from their axes winking and nodding in the general
vicinity of fellow New Yorkers Sonic Youth. Often the rhythms remind you of some
punked out jazz nightclub jam sessions. If you're as into textures and multiple
layers of sonic etherealness as I am, you'll fall in love instantly.
