Adept crankiness, intellect and humor: together these three
guarantee manufacturÆs collective and indidudual virtuosity,
their awareness of style and preciseness and latently gone mad
musical mixture not becoming pathological.
Reggae leftovers, bleeping space-music, laid back rock
drumming, sophisticated bass playing, Jazz, virtuoso trumpet
babble, modernistic electronics, danceables next to almost
songlike structures. Post-fusion from the Never-Ever-Lounge
with enough substantial stability to manoeuvre this crossover
safely around the cliffs of the clichΘ. Monotony and free
flow, repetition and action in perpetual change.
Dominik BurkhalterÆs distinct, complex drumming throbs and
clicks along in steady dialogue with Oli Kuster's electronic
paraphernalia, while bassplayer Urban Lienert is drawing dots
and dashes between them. A respirating, 3-dimensional
sound-and-rhythm-corpus, on which HaslerÆs trumpet easily
moves between melancholy and outbursts; truly playful, with a
flimsy premonition of a profiteable coolness slightly
recollecting Mark IshamÆs lyrical dispassion.
So no exsanguinous popjazzing here or anything like it - and
certainly not a front-horn with sidemen: manufactur are a
BAND! Doubtlessly and in each and every second.

electronic instruments in his odd and smart way. He is the
master of the right coulour and intensity. Plays with the duo

born 1972. lives in Lucerne, Switzerland. Has been with
manufactur from the first moment. Low frequencies on a high
level and myriad other skills, like programming plug-ins, web
sites and more. Plays with DOM and Gilbert Paeffgen. Click

drums
born 1975. lives in Zⁿrich, Switzerland. Most steady foreward
while musical drummer. Finds the good sounds in the good
tempo. Heads his own band DOM and plays with Asphalt Jungle.
