A native of Denmark, DJ Duke moved to New York around 1984. Working
in a record store, Downstairs Records, for a couple of years, he
also did alot of DJing at various clubs including The Warehouse,
The World, Mars and Nells. He is well known as the man behind one
of the biggest crossover club tracks ever, "Blow Your Whistle". He
has released numerous recordings on his own labels; Power Music,
Power Music Trax and Sex Mania.
Duke may be better known for his Power Music Tracks and harder
"club" sound but in the Techdisco series released via sublabel DJ
Exclusive he showed a definite flair for the disco re-edit and
track one on this final volume might be his pinnacle as he takes on
the P. Adams, L. Levan and G. Carmichael classic "Ain't No Mountain
High Enough" by Inner Life. Three other tracks aren't half bad
either.
