Widely recognized both here and abroad as a producer of Techno,
John Tejada transcends the easy limitations of genre and style.
With dozens of singles, remixes, some film and TV work and
contributions to sample CDs to his credit, this recent expansion
has born a slew of tracks deeply informed by his uncompromised
aesthetic--honed over years of diligent productionûwhich finds its
roots in Detroit Techno but references a far broader range of
music, both in and outside of electronic music. His musically
formative years were steeped in Classical music, growing up in
family of performing artists--his mother a soprano singer and his
father a conductor. Gradually, his interests widened to include hip
hop, DJing and finally, electronic music.

Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded
output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out
affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered,
deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs
as well as on the home stereo. Earlier on, his music found release
on labels such as A13, Multiplex and Generation R&S. Following
those successes, he established his own imprint, Palette, in Los
Angeles, in 1996, and has enjoyed five years of steady growth and
recognition. The label has served as an exclusive outlet for his
own prodigious output but has recently begun to expand its roster.
He has also continued to record for other labels such as Plug
Research, Seventh City, deFocus, and Ferox, often in collaboration
with artists such as Arian Leviste and Titonton Duvante. Alongside
these numerous singles, he has also produced five albums; two for
A13, and one each for deFocus, Palette and Plug Research.

With a discography of over 50 releases to date, there is always an
interest in the Tejada sound. "Daydreams In Cold Weather" is the
follow up album to The Matrix Of Us, which was released on Defocus
Records in 2000. Mr. Tejada begins his journey into the emotions of
sound, which he masterfully creates while using warm synth washes
and funky off-the-wall rhythms. John TejadaÆs music takes you on a
journey where you can actually feel his artistic expression in his
production. The album is signature John Tejada, composed of
gorgeous sounds layered with elaborate rhythms. From the outset of
the album you will begin to hear heartwarming electro, witty and
breathtaking electronica, and an assortment of nostalgic and
intimate melodies. Mr. Tejada has also invited long time friend, Mo
Wax recording artist Divine Styler to join him on "The Silence Of
Us" an exclusive hip hop / electronic hybrid. John has performed
some tracks from "Daydreams In Cold Weather" this past year in the
Los Angeles area and they have definitely rocked the house! DonÆt
forget his music is not only for the dance floor but also your home
stereo and headphones. At this point, we can only say that we are
extremely proud to release this much anticipated Plug Research
album release by Mr. Tejada and we think you will definitely feel
what we felt when we first heard it, EXQUISITE!
