Release Notes:
Polyethylene hails from Charlestown, Massachusetts and is proud to be part of
the prominent Boston indie rock scene. With influences ranging from the Pixies
to Mogwai to Radiohead, PolyethyleneÆs music covers a broad range of styles and
appeals to a variety of tastes. It may not be Music for the Masses, but in any
given set, thereÆs bound to be something for everyone. This trio consists of
Neal Ellis on guitar, bass and vocals, Elena Proakis on bass, guitar and vocals,
and Richard Reed on drums. (No, they donÆt have the shoebomber in the band,
though that would be one heck of a gimmick.)
Polyethylene has been performing in the Cambridge/Somerville area since November
2002. Polyethylene has been met with praise for its ability to combine
innovative songwriting with warm melodies and catchy riffs. Through the
combined songwriting efforts of Ellis and Proakis, Polyethylene is developing a
distinctive sound while still incorporating their variety of influences.
