minus 8 strikes again! shortly after the release of äbatucada 2ô
(a blend of latin old-school veterans and new latin heroes), he
redefines his idea of science fiction jazz once more. minus 8
shows his love for broken beats while allowing his latin
influences to shine through. the outstanding feature on this
compilation is its multi-faceted structure. minus 8 takes you in a
strong grip from the first track to the last and manages to keep
on surprising you: youÆll find smooth & jazzy bits, female vocals,
acid jazz inspired songs, cool-cat new jazz traces, latin
percussion, organ, sax and xylophone, airy guitars leading into a
catchy drumÆnÆbass track, abstract sounds and intimate songs û a
journey into a satisfying and inspiring universe of todayÆs music
production. each listener will discover two amazing things. first:
everyone will find his or her very special pearl. second: the
tracklisting is so smartly arranged, that you want to hear the
compilation all over again. take it as a promise û you will
remember what you hear! with tracks by recloose, swell session,
max fresh, akufen, modaji, minus 8 himself and many more. ôscience
fiction jazz vol. 7ö is by no means a chill-out album but a
confident and convincing commitment to beats and grooves. truly
mind-boggling and very refreshing!
