│ Luca Pernici was born in Reggio Emilia on June 10, 1969. His father became │
│ extremely relevant for his musical formation exposing Luca to jazz and │
│ classical music at a very young age. Only eight and Luca was already │
│ carrying out preparatory studies at the musical school ôAchille Periö of │
│ Reggio Emilia. When he turned eleven, he started to take piano and │
│ solfeggio lessons. His passion for music and for technology pushed him to │
│ find spaces in recording studios. Now it is more than ten years that Luca │
│ has been working in the studio as a producer, arranger and composer. This │
│ passion transformed into the desire to open his own studio which came to │
│ life at the beginning of 2000, the NuSound musiclab. This was the onset for │
│ concentrating on and interacting with other artists and his own productions │
│ but always broadening his views for new productions. This set the favorable │
│ conditions for fragmentOrchestra to come together. For his first album, │
│ although not yet released, Luca has the complicity of Giulio Vetrone who he │
│ met a year before while working on a project; MaffiaSoundSystem. What tied │
│ these two musicians to this work is the affinity as Jazz afficionados. Jazz │
│ also means improvisation, by the very thorough explanation of Pernici; ôA │
│ musician, in the moment at which improvisation occurs, is irrationally set │
│ free from any approach, creating a philosophy of composition without any │
│ given time or placeö. The goal was just this, to preserve an improvised │
│ approach through breaking down beats and notes but still achieving the │
│ variety of an orchestra or better yet, a fragmentOrchestra. Now and for the │
│ future, the extensive productions coming out of NuSound musiclab have │
│ inspired Luca Pernici to perform his creations for the public. For those │
│ curious of what will come next I can just say that in the same manner that │
│ Brazilian music and this wonderful land have influenced many artists, │
│ Senegal has captured PerniciÆs mind and soul. This past January a prolonged │
│ stay in this magical country has definitely become a strong source of │
│ inspiration narrated through a more earthy and tribal collection of │
│ fragments providing a strong hit for future productions. │
