Dave Seaman is spinning high energy trance,
filled with some known songs (an excellent
mix of Moby's "Porcelain") and some simply
incredible tunes that send shivers down my
spine every time (Ian Wilke's "Guten
Morgen").
CD1 begins subtle and slow, with an ambient
noise that progressively gets louder and
louder, increasing with energy. In comes a
small voiceover "...It's like a magic on
their face..." We then move to Rui Da
Silva's "The Four Elements - Earth", with
its Latin-inspired / tribal beats, setting
us up for the higher energy levels to come.
Simon's "Free At Last" seems to me like just
a long introduction to Moby's "Porcelain" (a
mix that I've never heard before, possibly
the best version of the song I know of).
Porcelain seamlessly transforms into Ian
Wilke's "Guten Morgen", which has one of the
most beautiful voices I have heard (I am a
sucker for incredible female vocals). This
is followed by a string of top notch,
energetic songs with sultry female vocals,
including Mandalay's "Deep Love" and The
Ananda Project's "Cascades of Color". The
energy really picks up starting with Gloat's
"Wuarp" and culminates with Breeder's
"Tyrantanic", paving the way for the second
disc in the set.
CD2 begins in much of the same fashion as
CD1, with somewhat ambient music under a
dialog track. Things then pick up with
Luzon's "The Baguio Track" and start to hit
high gear with Ballroom's "4AM". The last 6
tracks are all very high energy with Opal's
"The Snake" leading the way into the climax
with familiar tracks such as Way Out West's
"The Fall", James Holden's "Horizons",
Junkie XL's Zerotonine, and finishing with
the often used anthem "No Way Out" by
Highland.
Overall, this is a very good album, from
beginning to end. Dave Seaman does an
excellent job of sustaining a high energy
level throughout, and offers a very good mix
of well known and lesser-known tracks.
