   release notes:

Somewhere at the stage of the initial listening to "Heaven Shall
Burn...When We Are Gathered" my interest in Marduk diminished so much
that the lp quickly went back to the shelf, I myself was thinking
about pushing it to someone at any price, with a review I did not
consider I was in a hurry and it quite significantly alienated me from
their next albums. In short, this was the end of my adventure with
Marduk in general. And it turns out that it's not right, because
despite going into "blasturbations" and being even more "trv", you can
even overcome it and at least write something meaningful. It's not as
bad a release as it may seem from the description above and apart from
the content of "Heaven Shall Burn...", you can also find some nice
   music on their later releases.

On "Heaven Shall Burn..." there is too much to suffer from, although I
would find the biggest culprit in the mentioned faster paces.
Obviously, one cannot find fault with their realization, after all
Fredrik Andersson is at top speed with exemplary performance (and he
is not responsible for composing this material). But what after that
when more blasts do not equal better music. Apparently, the band in
1996 wanted to make it clear that they want to be more and more brutal
and...predictable. Unfortunately, it's not the masterpiece of "Those
Of The Unlight" or "Opus Nocturne" - actually a carbon copy of the
aforementioned albums. Stylistically, apart from being more and more
trv, the band actually serves similar patents as before, ie. a lot of
tremolos, black metal harsh (this time performed by Legion debuting in
Marduk), a bit of haunted intros and raw extremes. It's just that,
what if it was better and more convincing on the previous albums.

The beginning is still defending, the group serves the best and
well-balanced in terms of blasting "Beyond The Grace Of God" and
"Infernal Eternal", both very fast, but also quite catchy like the
"Those..." and "Opus..." albums. Later there is a drop in quality in
the form of "Glorification Of The Black God", too "mayhemous" "Dracul
Va Domini Din Nou In Transilvania" and only "Legion" summarizing the
album correctly. It gets much worse with "The Black Tormentor Of
Satan" and the most boring "Darkness It Shall Be" - these are
   definitely better omitted.

And if you look for the reason why Marduk is too cult, "Heaven Shall
Burn..." is a perfect example. From this album, with occasional
exceptions, the next albums of Morgan and companies have mostly gone
into more and more senseless brutality. The above is the beginning of
just such a little sophisticated style.
