what can i say about this guy? john tejada is certainly one of the
most prolific and hard working producers in the world of
electronic music. in addition to producing and remixing for
numerous labels around the globe, john runs his
techno/house-oriented palette label and his newly formed drum and
bass label, metaformal. oh, and let?s not forget those crazy
sample cds he produces for big fish audio; he not only creates all
of his own sounds for his songs, but gets paid to make sounds for
other less technically inclined producers! in other words, john
tejada is an audio wizard. on daydreams in cold weather, we find
john going from strength to strength for the ever-innovative plug
research imprint. continuing work that began on the matrix of us,
tejada expands on his vision of broken beats and sweet, electric
melodies backed by precision studio know how. ?to the west? opens
the disc, with its crisp breaks, shimmering chords, and slightly
acidic bassline, priming you for the beautiful selection of
electro-fied sound constructions that await you. nearing the end
of this audio journey, you?ll find ?the silence of us,? which sees
john teaming up once again with divine styler for a moody hip hop
piece reminiscent of the matrix of us and bringing this project
full circle. once again, john tejada has created an album of pure,
unpretentious, electronic music that stands for innovation and
originality
