For over 70 years, the 24 Heures du Mans has attracted spectators and
competitors from around the world, drawn by the unparalleled glamour,
excitement and atmosphere of this unique competition. Now, you too can
experience the exhilaration of the world's most famous driving event with
Le Mans 24 Hours, the officially licensed game of the 24 Heures du Mans
race.
Select your team, then compete in one of three different classes
(beginning in GT2 before moving up to the ultra-powerful GT1 or maybe the
cutting edge cars of the Prototype class).
Take on the role of mechanic as you adjust your car's performance and set
up the car for the race, before becoming the driver as you take your car
for a spin - sometimes quite literally!
Consult the telemetry data for your performance and fine tune the car's
set-up on the test track, then prepare to qualify. Shave seconds off those
laps times as you power round the circuit, but be careful, as a mistake at
this point could cost you valuable places on the starting grid.
Before reaching Le Mans, you will tour the world as you compete in a full
race season, vying to gain vital points in the Championship. As you
progress, new teams will offer you a racing contract. Do you accept, or
hold out for a better deal? The unique system adds a further element of
tactical management to this racing simulation. Complete the race season,
and if you've the skills to prevail, you'll face the ultimate challenge of
the 24 Heures du Mans.
Alternatively, select the Arcade option and go! With no qualifying, no
pit-stops and no set-up, this is the option for the real speed freak. And
for the truly dedicated, there's the Le Mans Mode, where the player can
compete in the 24 hour Le Mans race - in real time! [Don't worry - Save
and Load options are included for those who can't take the pace.]
