Flight-sims have always been popular among the PC games-buying public, but
many people feel left out since they like the idea of flying an aeroplane,
but don't want to read through a 200 page manual in order to get into the
air and stay there. No wonder then that several arcade flying games have
appeared over the years, and that an increasing number of serious flight
sims have an ''arcade'' option in the main menu. Up until now however,
these games and options always fall in between or were either still too
serious or too simple and therefore limited.
Aerial Combat Manoeuvres 1918 hopes to redress the balance. No need for a
thick manual to be able to play ACM, one can start it right away. ACM is
an arcadesim with elements of a flightsim. There are 30 levels, many dif-
ferent planes and many pilots with different strong points to choose from.
Features

ACM will give every player the possibility to climb into an aircraft and
immediately engage in dogfights, recon missions and escorts. The entire
game can be displayed in 65000 colours and high resolution, to make sure
the experience is as realistic as possible. Furthermore, the state of the
art 3d engine will have translucent effects, real time lighting and land-
scapes composed of real digitized aerial photography. Next to that, the
game will support multi player gaming, over a local area network as well
as over the internet.
Great graphics, cool stunts, addictive gameplay, sophisticated AI routines,
many different and varied missions, multiple planes and pilots and instant
accessibility. In short, ACM aims to become the ultimate arcade airplane
game.
