with the now near-legendary co-op night well into its
second year and still going from strength to strength, we see the
second installment on vinyl in the shape of co-operation session
ii.
featuring some of the same artists as on volume i (neon phusion,
i.g.culture & dego, fini dolo, seigi & daz i kue and kaidi tatham)
but with some new additions in the shape of rima (domu & volcov),
numbers, big bang and stephane attias.
musically the quality is still as high, but the thing that still
sets this aside from all other compilations is that fact that it
is an artist-led album with all profits being straightforwardly
split equally amongst all people involved.

at last the second co-op compilation drops! for those of you that
don't know, co-op (velvet rooms, charing cross rd, london) is a
club night setup by ig culture, demus, phil asher and dego that
is dedicated to this ting we call broken beats and has now become
almost legendary.
comparing this compilation with volume 1 reveals a definite
evolution of this 21st century fusion of broken rhythms, jazz
and soul - diverse as ever, the vocal elements are more prominent
in this second installment. the quality of the music is high
and every track is an exclusive. the boundaries for innovative
underground dance music continues to be pushed.
