| | The first in a series of three EPs from Noise | |
| | Factory's label devoted to lesser known | |
| | talent, Straight From The Bedroom, and what a | |
| | fucking EP it is. Two out of the four tracks | |
| | on it are certifiable oldskool anthems, and | |
| | the remaining two aren't half bad, either. | |
| | | |
| | One of the tunes you undoubtedly already know | |
| | is Teego's "Plenty Lovin", which mashes up a | |
| | classic reggae tune into a ruff and ready | |
| | jungle hit, and paved the way for plenty more | |
| | tunes to come in '94 following the same | |
| | template (see the majority of the '94 | |
| | Strictly Underground releases). | |
| | | |
| | The second tune which you're probably | |
| | familiar with is Human Being's "The Box | |
| | Opened", the original version of this tune | |
| | which was later reworked by Missin of the | |
| | Kemet Crew for their "Champion Jungle Sound" | |
| | album. Pianos and eerie samples stolen from | |
| | the legendary horror flick "Hellraiser" make | |
| | this a memorable tune still nearly ten years | |
| | later. | |
| | | |
| | The two remaining tracks, "Heartbeat" by FX, | |
| | and "Stand Up" by On The Same Buzz, are both | |
| | similar in that they sample divas and thereby | |
| | chipmunk them all to hell and back. | |
| | Disposable hardcore, yes, but then again, | |
| | some of the best was. | |
| | | |
| | Hold tight, hardcore massive -- more is on | |
| | the way... for those that know! | |
