Goblinsmoker presents the final part of the Toad King trilogy.
Shamanic Rites
This reveals the plan that was hatched in the shadows by the goblin
shaman after meeting the to be Toad King right at the start of our
story. The Shaman bestowed divine status upon the Toad King, uniting the
chaotic rabble of goblins under one banner, the worship of the king. The
goblin smoke would not only help the king escape his distain for the
world around him but would also open his mind to influence. An influence
that the shaman could manipulate and falsely warn of the ruling toad
class seeking to destroy him and his worshippers. This led the king to
march his goblin army into battle, bringing down the ruling toad class
and delivering the world to the goblins. "King by name, just a pawn."
Burn Him
With the world now ruled by goblins it was time for the next part of the
shaman's plan to come to fruition. In a world ruled by goblins, why does
a toad sit upon the throne? This is where the shaman makes his final
move to poison the Toad King in secrecy, and his body is to be burnt,
destroying any evidence of the heinous act. "Torched by the flame,
returned to the earth, from whence he came."
The King's Eternal Throne
With the death of the king announced the goblins prepare a ceremonial
burning of their divine leader, unbeknownst of the events which have
gone previous. The first half of this song leads us through the start of
that ceremony. "The king's final march...he shall be worshipped in death
as in life." Midway through the song, when the funeral pyre is lit the
air is filled with sacred smoke. This smoke filling the air, as well as
the minds of the goblins. This then reveals to a few of the most loyal
subjects the true version of events, that the king's death was untimely.
"Fever dream, showing truth." We then finish this tale with those who
have seen the truth vowing to stand for their king and seek vengeance.
"He must be avenged, they must stand for their king."
And that's where we leave it. The tale has come full circle and the Toad
King became the sacred smoke.
