Fukutomi's latest full-length neo-jazztastic release "Love Each
Other" which also happens to be the name of the album's first
single. In March of 2002, when "Love Each Other" (with beautifully
glorious vocals of Josh Milan) as a first single was released with
"Play Back" on the flipside, it was instantly welcomed worldwide,
showing up on club playlists and getting excellent foreign radio
support. Supported by the likes of Nick Holder in Canada, DJ Deep
of France and a #1 single on their influential French radio show
"Deepsounds" with Fred Portet (Radio FG), Norway's Espen Wiik of
Radio 1 made this a choice cut on his show as well as Deli G on his
show on Galaxy FM in the UK. Let us not forget the massive support
that came from Germany's own DJ Lars Behrenroth and Rainer Trⁿby,
Kiko Navarro at Flaix Radio in Spain, of course right here to the
three wise dj emperors last-named Kevorkian, Claussell and Krivit
who make up the Body & Soul trio.
Other highlights on this album include "Play Back" with its jazzy
piano keys, clacking snare-rimmed beats and flutey interludes
weaving through a Bossa bass; the Jazztronik remix of "Play Back"
is also on this album. Also, Dimitri from Paris', "from Rio to
Paris mix" of "Brasilia 2000", which gives the perfect case in
point of the increased global popularity of the Bossa/Samba beat
and sung in both English and Portuguese. From the Disco Samba "HSG"
tune to the "Day of Maracana" with its floaty soundscapes weaving
through xylophonic bars under a groovy rubbery bassline and sunny
jazzy overtones, there's a Bossa/Samba beat here for just about
everyone."
