Thomas dolby is one of the electronic-music pioneers of the 80ies,
entering the charts with "she blinded me with science" that time.
the original track of "one of our submarines" was written and
recorded by dolby in 1981. the song is about dolby's uncle, who sunk
with a submarine during the second world war. the tragically sinking
of the russian submarine kursk some years ago, brought the song back
into his mind (thomas dolby?s
live mix of the song is included on the thomas dolby CD:

the same time, dolby get's an e-mail from his friend klaus schulze,
telling him that two german electronic-musicians are big fans of
him and would like to do a remix of some of his tracks. dolby choose
_one of our submarines", not knowing that this was manes' and axel's
absolutly favorite dolby track. salz went crazy for some weeks, but
after a while the submarine remix work begun....
a lot of today's electronic artists are true dolby fans, so the
remix-project grew up.
