"movemento latino" has many definitions nowadays: "latin jungle",
"brazil boogie tunes", "future jazz" - or whatever you want to
call this kind of music. it's basically about affectionately
produced, latin-influenced nu-jazz/techno amidst down-tempo breaks
and uplifting dancefloor numbers that have meanwhile taken the
spirit of south america to the most far off places on the globe.
nobody can escape from catching on to this sound. "club siesta
popular" is a cross section of the different approaches within
this "genre" fusing club hits and down-tempo tracks. what makes
this compilation so special is the selection of tracks, it
contains some of the best tunes of its genre. "club siesta
popular" is as funky and fresh as it is deeply futuristic -
oscillating between traditional jazz samba, electronic nu-jazz and
nu-house. lovingly and skilfully compiled by dj reza asadi, the
urban latinjazz club open its doors to us.
