bobby hughes combination - whatever character or alias espen horne
chose as alter-ego, when he was in need of an alias to front his
ventures into the domain of music making. those of you who have
been listening to the bobby hughes experience album (fusa riot)
will certainly know that. not only can bobby hughes point to a
proven track record as professional footballer, sheepherder and
nordic funkateer; he can easily discuss the merist of scandinavian
design in the sixties while giving you a top recipe for marinating
reindeer meat. needles to say, bobby hughes has a deep knowledge
of all things related to jazz and design. needless and probably
obvious to say, but yes, they are related..
espen will rapidly point out to you that bobby hughes ia a
"bergener" of norway.. where weÆve been developing loads of great
new artists such as royksopp, kings of convienience, koop, jagga
jazzist, those norwegians to name a few..
kerma elastica - a track which already created a buzz around the
globe when stereo deluxe mailed out only a hundred whitelabels.
you can find the track on many many playlists formed by some named
tastemakers.. and while listening to the track you know why..
kerma elastica is already a huge classic of modern uptempo jazz..
socalled nujazz.
bobby hughes managed to attract karin krogh with that track and so
youÆll find a special version on this highlighted 12inch release.
norways most famous jazzsinger performs in her very special way
intonating a track.. we called it "karins kerma".
