The Devils of Vulture Valley is the official
collaboration between The Grand Myth and the Dinosaur
Horror series "Primitive War". I have been a fan of
dinosaurs (like so many others) as long as I can
remember. I read Primitive War back in 2020 and found
the story incredibly engrossing and the setting so
wonderfully unique. I had been following the author,
Ethan Pettus, since at least 2022 once I found the
Primitive War fan group over on Facebook. This past
February I shot a message wondering if he'd want to
collaborate. If I'm being honest, I expected nothing
besides a "hey thats cool man, no thanks". I'm just
some dude making heavy metal on the internet, but
Ethan gave me his full support and I don't think I
fully grasped what that meant when we first started
working together.
Ethan gave me a ton of feedback on every song, the
album art options, merch, and so much. He had the idea
of featuring Wayne June on every song as a testament
to his life and his contribution to the series. He
introduced me to people I've been a fan of for a few
years now in the online paleo-media space, and it has
been overwhelming seeing all the support the Primitive
War community has given me for these songs. I don't
take for granted how special this small moment is.
