you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out that
slip'n'slide blue is an offshoot of the house-tastic slip'n'slide
mega label. the raison d'etre of blue is to be more eclectic and
'black'. thus the imprint's first release was the phil-asher
compiled collection now hears the future which featured everyone
from detroit techno gods octave one to the soul ascendants.
artists appearing on the album were also interviewed and invited
to talk about their work. the second compilation, blueprints vol
1, took the idea a step further, collecting tracks from the labels
that have inspired slip'n'slide blue. you got tracks and remixes
by laurent garnier, roy davis jnr, attica blues, amalgamation of
soundz and jazzanova plus cuts from slip'n'slide blue recording
artists like solid groove, yann fontaine and deem-c. follow-ups
are in the pipeline. these albums have book-ended a slew of
critically-acclaimed 12 inch releases which have run the gamut
from horizontal chill-out gear to more full on ibiza-destined fare.
