The deep house crew brings you once again a high quality release of

Last year while hanging out at the bar of the Montreax Jazz Festival,
producer/keyboard player Christopher Bemand (Ballistic Brothers,
Marden Hill, 45 Dip, Hed Kandi) and flute player Simon George met up
with drummer Isaac Heywood and bassist Hamlet Luton of the famed
chillout band 'Nightmare's on Wax'. A love of all things liquid and
Latin led to a recording session with percussionist Will Parnell (of
the infamous Parnell family whose diverse credits include Spinal Tap
and Saturday Night Live from the Palladium). Then, the talent of jazz
vocalist Liz Fletcher was added to the five-piece band, and their
first single, 'Las Luces del Norte' was brought into being, and as
'Earthprojects' second release stormed onto the nu jazz dance scene
in October of 2000 attracting plaudits from Phil Asher, Patrick
Forge, King Britt, LTJ Bukem, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Laurent Garnier,
Rainer Truby and The Amalgamation of Soundz. Phew!
New album Montana Rusa follows the recent single of the same name,
snatching influences from the coolest of Latin and Jazz and also
throwing in a hefty dose of the London dance scene. Collaborators
featured on the album are former Crustacian singer Bronagh Slevin,
classical guitar player Antonio Bianco, Graham Flowers on Trumpet and
Dave Liddell on Trombone.
Introspective vocals and subtle Spanish guitar strumming characterise
the albums more laidback moments. There is still space for full-on,
salsa-soaked tackle in the mould of title track 'Montana Rusa' and
the gorgeous bass licks of 'Go Bianco!' though, on an album which
cleverly bridges the dancefloor / armchair divide.
