| It's a tale almost as old as breakbeats on the ones and twos: |
| legendary rap album gets shelved due to label politics and A/R |
| concerns over lacking radio-friendly singles. Unlike so many |
| records with similar stories, this particular album, however, is |
| Danish - and now, 30 years later, it will finally be released. |

| Unorthodox: The 1995 Tapes by rapper Youngblood (YB) and legendary |
| producer trio The Prunes (Beastie Boys, Mo' Wax) is a rarity in |
| Danish hiphop: dark, uncompromising boom-bap that fits right in |
| with classics like The Sun Rises in the East and Enta da Stage. A |
| raw, relentless sound that once scared off the rapper's former |
| record label, but now is sure to find its way to a lot of new |
| listeners far beyond its country of origin. |

| While Unorthodox would remain in the archives for years, thankfully |
| Youngblood's story didn't stop there. He won a Danish Grammy in |
| 1993 for his debut - the precursor to Unorthodox - and has since |
| carved out an international career as a producer and writer, from |
| the Method Man single Ya' Meen to over 75 K-pop releases with |
| groups like EXO, Seventeen, and Red Velvet. |

| Unorthodox: The 1995 Tapes features 11 previously unreleased tracks |
| and joins a series of recent discoveries from The Prunes' archives. |
