     producer, dj and remixer, andrea parker has crafted some of the    
     most challenging and extraordinary sounds recently to have emerged 
     from club culture. in spring 1997 andrea parker got a phone call   
     inviting her to new york to dj with four decks and a bunch of      
     sound effects records with an ensemble performing compositions by  
     philip glass, one of the artists whose work had most inspired her  
     music. within hours of arriving at jfk the very next day, she      
     found herself on stage, blowing the dust off the speakers at the   
     lincoln center with philip glass in the audience. "luckily he said 
     he loved it," grins andrea "that was definitely one of my best dj  
     gigs."                                                             
                                                                        
     'the rocking chair' features breathy female vocal accompanied by   
     emotional portishead-like triphoppedness. strins section arranged  
     by stephen robers for the english string orchestra.
