talented producer Funken from France. Our album Warm ██
Computers was released in 2018 on Mean Joe TunesÆ label, ██
Animal Street. While the songs really come alive in a live ██
band settingùespecially when we bring in additional musicians ██
like our good pal Fabien Demacedoù I also wanted to explore a ██
different approach. ██
This alternative version was created by Mean Joe and I, with ██
solo or DJ based performances in mind, and I feel it ██
represents the song in a way that works better when IÆm ██
performing on my own. ██

times, completing a large portion of a new collaborative ██
project. ██
ôAround Your Wayö is a mash-up of different elements from ██
songs that will later appear on that project, along with a ██
call-and-response, turntablist conversation between the two ██
of us. Listen to our hands speak as we move circles and slap ██

If you donÆt know already, please go seek out the music and ██
art of Chad VanGaalenùthe guy is a genuine genius. ██
I had the pleasure of playing a festival in Sackville, NB, ██
several years in a row, and during many of those years Chad ██
was a prominent performer. I completely fell in love with the ██
way his mind works. In 2011, I was able to convince the ██
festival to let bleubirdÆs mobile performance RV, Freebird, ██
act as a side stage, hosting other art projects and a ██
bleubird and Thesisshowcase that included several ██
experimental beat performances. We had an incredible session ██
with Chad. ██
Later that year, Chad sent over some stream-of-consciousness ██
beat creations for me to chop up and rap over. In 2017, I ██
finally recorded vocals for this track. IÆve been performing ██
it live for many years, and it has finally found a home on ██
this project. ██

2001, Halifax, NS. SixToo moved into a room in a condemned, ██
graffiti-writer, mouse-infested flop house that I had ██
organized with a group of friends. SixToo invited Sage ██
Francis and Joe Beats to temporarily stay in the hovel while ██
they worked on a project called Non-Prophets. They were ██
wonderful guests. Joe traded me a beat for a painting he ██
wanted, and that beat later evolved into the song Tin ManÆs ██
Shoes. ██
The writing for Tin ManÆs Shoes was partly inspired by a ██
conversation I had with Choke of Swampthing/Toolshed fame. We ██
talked about not disrespecting our craftsùboth graffiti ██
writing and rappingùby being drunk while creating. Not that ██
thereÆs anything inherently wrong with that, but in ██
reflection, many of our contemporaries seemed to rely on ██
alcohol to work. We wanted to make sure we were creating ██
because we truly felt it, without developing a dependence on ██
substances to open ourselves creatively. ██
The original version of this song was recorded with the help ██
of Fresh Kils and features the turntablism of the talented ██
graffiti writer Fontski. IÆve performed it live in many ██
different iterations, with and without a DJ. Recently, after ██
supporting the Codefendants in Detroit, my friend Kristine ██
mentioned that she liked elements of the newer live version. ██
This recording is my attempt to capture that feeling, using ██
the same mic and effects I use in my live shows. ██
Either this is a cool new take, or IÆm ôGeorge LucasÆingö my ██
old creationsùbut I thought IÆd give it a shot as a last- ██
minute addition to this project. ██

ôJust So You Knowö was originally included on a 2010 project ██
called Les Swashbuckling Napoleons, a collaboration with Fake ██
Four alumni bleubird along side myself and incredible beats ██
by our friend Edison (check out Edison, donÆt walk... run). ██
That project barely made it into the world and exists only on ██
the few CDs we were able to sell hand to hand. The truth is, ██
bleubird and I had been working toward an album since we ██
first met in 2001, and along the way we ran into continued ██
roadblocksùcomputer crashes, corrupt and lost files, ██
disorganized yet hopeful label alliances, and plenty of ██
setbacksùbut thatÆs a conversation for another time. ██
I wanted to include this track here as a teaser, because ██
bleubird, Edison and I have recently been offered a really ██
exciting opportunity: Les Swashbuckling Napoleonsùthe full ██
album, along with some of the additional unreleased material ██
ùmay be seeing a limited vinyl release in the near future. ██

series of beat nights where rappers could drop a 16-bar verse ██
over a random beatùno battles, just pure rapping. ██
For this Fake Four project, I wanted to create a classic ██
posse cut featuring some of the voices connected to HEALTH ██
CLINIC. There are many others out there that should be ██
featured on a HEALTH CLINIC verse and will probably be in the ██
future if we can continue to do another one. Timbuktu did an ██
amazing job mixing the wide range of vocals on this track. ██
